Brooks, Manzalini Earn Preseason All-American Recognition, Preseason Rankings

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two Gators women's golfers have earned preseason recognitions, as Golfweek announced its Preseason All-America teams and Top Freshmen to Watch lists.
Junior Sierra Brooks has been named to the Golfweek Preseason All-America Second Team and freshman Clara Manzalini is one of the Golfweek Preseason Top-10 Freshmen.
During the 2017-18 season, Brooks became the first player in program history to win two of her first three events in Orange and Blue. She led the team in stroke average with a 72.03 in her 26 rounds in the spring, which ties the second-best single-season stroke average in program history, and earned All-SEC Second Team honors. She was also named as a 2018 All-American Second Team selection by Golfweek and earned All-American Honorable Mention by WGCA at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season.
Manzalini, a freshman from Milan, Italy, is a member of the Italian National Team and has participated in the European Ladies Team Championships for the past 2 years, placing second individually and helping Italy place second as a team in 2017.
The Gators, who are ranked No. 12 in the Golfweek Preseason Rankings, begin their season this weekend in Charleston, South Carolina for the Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston September 9-11.
Florida Women's Golf was also ranked No. 12 in the WGCA Preseason Poll. The Gators are up three spots from their No. 15 Golfweek ranking at the end of last season.
