STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 6 Florida women's golf team closed out its fall season in a tie for fifth place behind a collective 4 over performance at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
 
Arizona State claimed the event title, finishing 14 strokes ahead of the Gators.
 
At the top of the lineup, Addie Baggarly led the Gators on the final day. The junior carded six birdies throughout the round to finish at 2 under, putting her at 4 over overall and tied for 26th individually.
 
Elin Esborn continued to play steady for Florida through the last 18 holes. Esborn shot even on the day, ending the tournament at just 1 over and tied for 16^th on the leaderboard. Esborn's top-25 finish marks her fourth of the fall.
 
Marina Escobar also enjoyed an even-par outing. Escobar's solid third-round 71 put her at 4 over collectively and tied for 26^th as an individual.
 
Clara Manzalini and Marta Perez both shot 4 over in Sunday's round, to finish tied for 16^th and tied for 43^rd, respectively.
 
Notable

• The Gators have finished inside the top five in all four of their fall tournaments this season
• After shooting 12 over on the first day of competition, Florida fought back, shooting a collective 8 under through the final two rounds to climb 10 total ­spots on the leaderboard
• The Gators carded a total of 50 birdies throughout the three-day event
• Clara Manzalini posted the best average par 4 score of the whole field at 3.89

On the team's overall performance...
"This was a successful trip for many reasons. There were many things to learn and to me it couldn't have come at a better time with the off season now here. We had moments of brilliance this week for sure, but too many mistakes held us back. Those are things we get to focus on over the next few months and I know this group is excited about that." 

On the way Florida fought back after the first round...
"We played with a lot of heart this week. The second round was special, not only because we went low, but because of how we were able to rebound after round one. That shows grit and toughness which are important skills we need. I'm proud of these ladies and looking forward to a productive off season."
