No. 20 Gators Play Final Full Weekend of SEC Action

No. 20 Florida finishes Southeastern Conference regular-season action with three matches in eight days, starting Thursday at Tennessee and then returning home to play host to No. 8 South Carolina on Sunday.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The final full weekend of Southeastern Conference regular-season play begins with No. 20 Florida soccer traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to face Tennessee. Then the Gators return home to play host to No. 8 South Carolina on Sunday for Florida's Senior Day.

Following the game, members of the team will pass out candy to kids 12 and under; Post-game Autographs - Members of the team will be signing autographs following the match outside of the team facility located on the south side of the stadium concourse.
 
SEC Race:
With three matches remaining on each of the 14 Southeastern Conference soccer team's schedules, Florida and Arkansas share first in the Southeastern Conference standings. The Gators and Razorbacks are tied with 18 points and South Carolina is third at 17.
 
Last Week's Match:
In the Gators' only match of weekend, Florida responded to an early deficit to score a pair of goals for a 2-1 win over Auburn. The Tigers took the early lead in the 16th minute when Angeline Daly scored on a 19-yard strike. Freshman Kouri Peace tied the match in the 37th minute when she put in the cross from Carina Baltrip-Reyes. Junior Parker Roberts hit the game-winner in the 48th minute when she scored on a nine-yard shot off the assist from Cassidy Lindley. It was the second consecutive match with a goal for Peace and Roberts.
 
After scoring in consecutive matches, Peace claimed the Oct. 21 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honor – her first such honor. Vanessa Kara and Deanne Rose have picked up three 2019 SEC Offensive Player of the Week awards.
 
Last Meeting Between Gators-Tennessee:
When UF and Tennessee met last season, the No. 9 Lady Vols won 2-0 for UT's first win in six visits to Gainesville. Tennessee scored in the second minute when Danielle Marcano scored. The Vols pushed the lead out to 2-0 in the 57th minute when Claire Franks tapped the ball ahead to Erin Gilroy located just above the six-yard box. Gilroy took a touch to her right before scoring on a right-footed shot.
 
Last Season's Meetings Between Gators at South Carolina:
At No. 12 South Carolina, a first-half goal gave South Carolina a 1-0 win. Freshman Selma Sol Magnusdottir scored the day's only goal in the 11th minute. Elexa Bahr won the ball above the box and sent it ahead to Sol Magnusdottir. She took a touch before scoring on an angled 12-yard shot.
