Gators Primed for Florida Fall Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team is set to close out its 2019 fall schedule with a pair of exhibitions against the USSSA Pride and Florida State this Friday and Saturday at Space Coast Stadium.
The Gators will face the USSSA Pride Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Florida State Saturday at 1 p.m. The Pride will also be providing a live stream of both contests, but will require a paid subscription to view.

Leading up to the Gators final two games of the fall, the team has squared off against Jacksonville (13-0), USF (16-0), UNF (6-1), Santa Fe College (10-0) and UCF (12-4) in 10-inning exhibitions. Overall, UF has outscored the opposition 57-5 over the five contests.
Offensively, UF is averaging 1.14 runs per inning and 5.7 runs per exhibition. Leading the way at the plate is senior All-American Kendyl Lindaman, who has posted a .556 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 10 hits, three of which have gone for extra bases.
Following Lindaman's production is Jordan Matthews (.438), Charla Echols (.417) and Julia Cottrill (.381). Echols is tied with Lindaman and Hannah Adams with nine runs scored this fall, while Cottrill currently leads the team with 11 RBI and three home runs. Matthews has contributed eight RBI and five runs scored.
In the circle, the Gators have posted a 0.56 ERA as a staff thanks to the efforts of Natalie Lugo, Rylee Trlicek, Katie Chronister, Elizabeth Hightower and Danni Farley. The staff has also limited opposing batters to a .139 average and only four extra-base hits in 50 innings pitched.
When UF takes on the Pride Friday evening, they will be met by familiar faces as volunteer assistant coach Jolene Henderson along with former standout and current graduate assistant Amanda Lorenz will suit up with the Pride.
