PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Florida head football coach Dan Mullen has been tabbed as a semifinalist for the 2019 George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year award.
President Mark Dianno and the Maxwell Football Club released the complete list of 22 candidates on Wednesday. The semifinalist field was determined by the Club's Selection Committee.
The group will be trimmed down to three finalists after the next voting period occurs on Nov. 21- Dec. 8.
The George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year will be announced on Dec. 29, and will be formally recognized at the Maxwell Football Club's National Awards Gala on March 6, 2020 at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.
In his second year at the helm of the program, Mullen has led the Gators to an overall record of 9-2.
With Florida's 23-6 win over Missouri on Nov. 16, he became just the fourth head coach in program history to win at least nine games in their first two seasons.
The Gators will be back in action on Nov. 30 when they welcome Florida State to The Swamp for their regular-season finale at 7:30 p.m.
