Henderson Named to FWAA All-America Second Team
Thursday, December 19, 2019 | Football
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced their All-America Second Team selections on Thursday, as Florida defensive back CJ Henderson was the lone Gator to be named among this year's Second Team honorees.
Henderson is the first Gator to receive FWAA All-America recognition since former defensive back Teez Tabor in 2016, who was also named to the Second Team.
CJ Henderson has totaled 33 tackles (26 solo), including 3.0 tackles for a total loss of 15 yards, and a sack on the season. Henderson leads the Gators in pass breakups, with 11 on the year, while ranking fourth among the SEC in passes defended. The Miami, Fla. native and three-year starter has been named an All-SEC selection each year with the Gators, while also being named a semifinalist for this year's Paycom Jim Thorpe Award and Lombardi Award, as he will forego his final year of eligibility to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
