Carter's Corner: Date of Gators-Miami Opener on Move?

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators renew their rivalry against Miami in a much-anticipated 2019 season opener.
The game is scheduled Aug. 31 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. However, on Wednesday night The Orlando Sentinel reported the game's date could be moved from its scheduled date to a week earlier, on Aug. 24, pending NCAA approval.
The Associated Press later reported that Miami officials said the game will be at night regardless of the date.
It's unusual for a game's date to be moved six months before kickoff. The obvious advantage for the Gators and Hurricanes is increased exposure. By kicking off a week earlier than the rest of college football, the game takes center stage in a matchup that pits Gators head coach Dan Mullen against new Miami coach Manny Diaz, one of his former assistants at Mississippi State.
From glancing at comments on social media, fans expressed strong feelings when the news broke.
What about you? Would you prefer the game move up a week or stay on Labor Day weekend?
