FULLERTON, Calif. – No. 3 Florida fell 7-1 to No. 2 UCLA on the first day of the Judi Garman Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton at Anderson Family Field presented by USA Softball. A single game record crowd of 1,227 was in attendance for the contest.
The Gators (18-1) scattered eight hits in the game against the Bruins (15-0) and broke onto the scoreboard in the sixth after junior
Hannah Adams, 1-for-2, roped a double to left center that scored pinch-runner
Jade Caraway.
At the plate,
Kendyl Lindaman notched a 3-for-4 performance, while Adams,
Amanda Lorenz,
Jordan Roberts,
Danielle Romanello and
Sophia Reynoso each tallied a hit in the game.
In the circle, senior
Kelly Barnhill (9-1) suffered her first loss of the season, while Holly Azevedo improved to 5-0 for the Bruins.
