KEY NOTES OF WEEK:
Florida went 2-2 against a pair of Top 10 opponents…On Tuesday, the Gators' offense carried them to a 20-7 win over in-state rival #6 Florida State…Over the weekend, Florida lost its SEC opening series to #5 Mississippi State; UF lost the first game 6-5 on Friday before splitting a doubleheader on Saturday, losing 10-5 in game won and winning 4-2 in game two…Nelson Maldonado continued his hot hitting, leading the offense with a .467 average (7-15) last week with a home run, double and three RBI; he currently has a seven-game hitting streak and leads the team with 10 multi-hit games on the year…Wil Dalton also had a good week, going 6-15 (.400) with a home run, double and seven runs scored…Freshman Kendrick Calilao continued producing runs, leading the team with seven RBI last week (6-19, .316, 2B, HR); he hit his second grand slam of the year in Tuesday's win over FSU…Tyler Dyson turned in his best start of the year in a must-win situation to avoid a sweep vs. MSU; he went 6+ innings with two runs allowed and just one walk…Tommy Mace limited MSU to just three hits over 6.1 innings with three runs allowed.PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Had a hit in all four games with two multi-hit games last week
- Needing a win to avoid a sweep vs. #5 Mississippi State, Maldonado went 3-4 with a double, home run and two runs scored
- Currently has a seven-game hitting streak in which he's 13-for-26 (.500) with 10 runs scored, 8 RBI, 3 doubles and 3 home runs

- Dyson turned in his best start of the season in a crucial spot, earning a win in the final game of the series against #5 Mississippi State to avoid a sweep
- Over the first six innings, he allowed just one run with no walks against a powerful MSU lineup
- It marked his longest outing of the year and matched the fewest walks allowed
- He's now 2-0 with a 3.42 ERA on the season
Kendrick Calilao – Fr. – 1B – Kissimee, Fla.

- Calilao continues to lead the team in producing runs with a team-best 7 RBI last week
- For the second time this year, he had 6 RBI in a single game – totaling 6 against #6 FSU on Tuesday
- He also hit his second grand slam of the season (Tuesday vs. FSU)
- On the year, he is hitting .342 with a team high 26 RBI
