Gators Welcome Bears to The Diz

Florida and Brown set to face off on Tuesday for the first time in program history.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 17th-ranked Florida Gators return to the confines of Donald R. Dizney Stadium on Tuesday when the team takes on Brown.

Opening draw is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed on YouTube with Ryan Urquhart and Annabeth Collins on the call.

The Gators are coming off a hard-fought win against No. 18 Stony Brook, while Brown just defeated ninth-ranked Princeton, 12-11.  

This is the first unranked opponent that the Gators have faced since March 9 (High Point). Florida's schedule thus far is ranked the fifth-hardest in the nation, trailing only Boston College, Virginia, Maryland and Penn. Out of the teams in the AAC, UConn is the next closest to Florida, sitting at the 26th-hardest schedule to this point in the season.

  • Halftime Contest: During halftime, there will be a Moe's Burrito Shoot to Win contest. A fan will dress in the Moe's burrito suit, spin around five times on a dizzy bat and try to shoot in the goal, earning $5 Moe's Bucks for every shot

Scouting the Bears
Brown currently sits 4-4 in the 2019 campaign and 2-1 in conference play. The Bears hold a 1-1 record against ranked opponents this season, dropping a 18-12 decision against Navy, but topping Princeton, 12- 11 this past week.

This is the first meeting between Florida and Brown, with Florida holding a 6-1 record against Ivy League teams.

Brown is led on the offensive front by Risa Mosenthal, who has scored 34 goals and dished out six assists on the year. Emma DeGennaro is the only other Bear in double-digit goals this season, with 17. Claire Jeschke holds control of the draw circle this season, with 25 wins. Caroline Zaffino and Erin Schafer are right behind, with 20 and 18 draw control wins, respectively. Erin Tucker has served as Brown's main goalkeeper this season, picking up 76 saves in her 465 minutes in the cage. She currently holds a saves percentage of .444.

  • Streaking: Haley Hicklen has recorded a save in 36-straight games, the second-best mark in program history.
  • Streaking: Lindsey Ronbeck has also scored at least one goal in 21-straight games, the third-best mark in program history 
  • Streaking: Sabrina Cristodero (24) and Shannon Kavanagh (23) are creeping closer to the record for most consecutive games with a draw control (27)
