Florida travels to Philadelphia to play in its first ever American Athletic Conference game

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 17 Florida Gators kick off conference play on Saturday against Temple at Howarth Field. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be streamed on the American Digital Network.
Lincoln Rose will serve as the play-by-play announcer, Kit McConnico will be the color commentator and Lisa Roman will be the sideline reporter.
No. 17 Florida at Temple Live Stream
This is the first game for the Gators in the American Athletic Conference, the third league Florida has played in during the program's tenure. The AAC is the 16th conference to sponsor women's lacrosse.
Florida has won eight conference titles in the program's nine seasons: 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 American Lacrosse Conference Champions, and 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 BIG EAST Champions.
The Gators swept all four major Preseason American Athletic Awards: Lindsey Ronbeck was named Attacker of the Year, Sydney Pirreca was named Midfielder of the Year, Cara Trombetta was named Defensive Player of the Year and Haley Hicklen was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
Along with the four major awards, seven Gators were named preseason All-AAC Team members: Sabrina Cristodero, Grace Haus, Hicklen, Shannon Kavanagh, Pirreca, Ronbeck and Trombetta.
Scouting the Owls
Temple is currently sits 3-7 in the 2019 campaign and will kick off its conference season against the Gators. The Owls hold a 0-2 record against ranked opponents this season, dropping a 16-7 decision against Princeton and falling 16-10 against James Madison. This is the sixth meeting between the two squads, with Florida leading the series 5-0.
The Owls are led on the offensive front by Maddie Gebert, who has scored 18 goals on the season. Olivia Thompson has pitched in 15, while Meghan Hoffman and Bridget Whitaker have scored 12 and 11, respectively. Kara Nakrasius has controlled the draw circle this season, coming up with 43 draw wins this season. Amber Lambeth has added 31 of her own and Bridget Whitaker and Wynston Archer have each pitched in 17. Maryn Lowell leads the Owls in the cage, with a .355 saves percentage and 44 saves. She's played 385 minutes between the pipes this season.
