GAINESVILLE, Fl. – UF women's golfer junior Sierra Brooks spent all day Wednesday on a press tour in New York City with fellow SEC golfer Maria Fassi of Arkansas women's golf, promoting the inaugural women's amateur event being held at Augusta National golf course next week, prior to the Masters.
The day started with stops at CNBC the Today Show with the entire morning crew, including Carson Daly and Dylan Dreyer. They were accompanied by World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez, who has 48 LPGA Tour titles and three major championships.
They also had the opportunity to meet reporter Gerri Wilson at the New York Stock Exchange, where they presented the trophy.
They also took the 24K custom Tiffany's trophy to the Empire State Building.
The Women's Amateur at Augusta National will begin April 3-4 with the first two rounds of the tournament will be played at the Champions Retreat. There will then be a practice round on April 5 at Augusta National that all 72 players will be able to participate in. The final round on April 6 will include the top 30 players from the first two rounds and will be played on Augusta National. The event will be covered by NBC.
