Florida bounced back with a strong 3-1 week and important series win over South Carolina in Gainesville … The Gators started the week with a 3-1 win at in-state rival Florida State on Tuesday night; with the win, Florida swept the regular-season series against FSU for the fourth year in a row … Kirby McMullen's pinch-hit, two-run double in the ninth inning won the game for Florida in Tallahassee … David Luethje started and pitched four strong innings, allowing one run on five hits in four innings … On Thursday, Florida opened its series against the Gamecocks with a 9-5 win; Tommy Mace turned in a quality start, allowing two runs on just three hits over six innings … USC won game two 6-3 … Jordan Butler stole the series win with a walk-off, three-run home run on Saturday, giving Florida a 6-4 win … Butler got the start at first base and went 4-for-5 with two home runs (the first two of his career) and a career-high four RBI … Luethje was key once again, pitching 4.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to pick up the win.FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
