UF also brings an eight-game win streak into the series and took down in-state rival No.4 Florida State 4-0 on the road Wednesday night. Kelly Barnhill picked up her 25th victory of the season and ranks second in the country in the category behind Louisiana's Summer Ellyson (26).

Also, this weekend the Gators will welcome back alumni from the program along with holding the annual "Yellow Game" this Saturday.

Friday's first game is set to be aired on ESPN2 along with Saturday's game on ESPN. Beth Mowins and Michele Smith as host for the network broadcast. The second game of the doubleheader Friday will be streamed on SEC Network+ with Francesca Enea and Kyle Crooks.

Notable Notes
  • The Gators picked up their 13th win of the season over a top-25 opponent with the shutout of No. 4 Florida State Wednesday night in Tallahassee.
    • Entering the series tomorrow, Alabama holds a 7-2 record against ranked teams.
  • Seniors Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz became the first Florida softball players in program history to ever be drafted first and second overall in the National Pro Fastpitch College Draft.
    • Barnhill was the top overall pick by the Chicago Bandits, while Lorenz was drafted by the USSSA Pride as the second overall pick.
    • Not only are Barnhill and Lorenz the highest draft picks in program history, this is only the second time since 2006 that two players from the same program have went as the top two picks. Oklahoma's Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley were selected first and second overall during the 2015 draft.
  • Freshman Hannah Sipos became only the fifth freshman in program history to earn an SEC Player of the Week award. Kelsey Stewart was the last freshman to be named SEC Player of the Week April 15, 2013.
    • Sipos turned in a trio of multi-hit games in the series against Texas A&M at Davis Diamond this past weekend. The infielder mostly known for her defensive prowess at third base racked up seven hits through three games and was instrumental in being able to turn the lineup over for the Gators. She also hit her first career home run while in College Station.
  • Barnhill ranks third in the nation in total strikeouts with 242 so far on the year. The Marietta, Ga. native ranks second in UF history with 1,101 career strikeouts and is fast approaching the record of 1,116 that Stacey Nelson set during her career from 2006-'09.
    • The Marietta, Ga. native is also the active NCAA career leader in the category throughout all divisions.
  • Barnhill and Lorenz were recently named as Senior CLASS Award top-10 finalists. It's the first time in program history that two Gators made the top-10 in the same season and it's only the third time in the awards history. Fans can vote for Barnhill and Lorenz daily HERE.
