Gators Head to UConn for AAC Road Game

Florida faces the Huskies on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 18 Florida Gators are on the road for the final time in the regular season on Saturday when the team faces UConn.

Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

This is the fourth conference game for both Florida and UConn, with the Gators holding a 3-0 record in the league and the Huskies sitting at 0-3 in conference play. Florida, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt have all punched tickets to the AAC Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio from May 2-4. Only one spot remains for three teams (Temple, ECU, UConn).

The Gators sit at No. 12 in the latest RPI rankings. Boston College is first, followed by Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Syracuse, Michigan, Northwestern, Southern California, Notre Dame, Princeton and Penn. The Gators have faced eight teams in the Top-25 thus far. 

Scouting the Huskies
UConn currently sits at a 2-13 overall record and a 0-3 record in the AAC conference. The Huskies are 0-2 against ranked opponents this season, falling to Syracuse 18-6 and James Madison 18-9.
 
This is the fifth meeting between the two squads, with Florida holding the 3-1 advantage.
 
UConn is led on the offensive front by Sydney Watson, who has scored 36 goals this season. Olivia Miles has added 26, while Lia Laprise has pitched in 16. Watson has also controlled the draw circle for the Huskies, coming up with 83 draw controls, almost 50 more than any other member of the team. Grace Beshilian has the majority of minutes in the cage for the Huskies, recording a 2-10 record. She has recorded 132 saves with a .431 save percentage in 695 minutes.
