Three Gators Earn AAC Weekly Nods

Haus, Kavanagh and Cristodero all honored by the conference
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators picked up two wins against Brown and Temple last week, earning them three AAC Player of the Week honors, as league announced Tuesday.
Grace Haus earned Attacker of the Week, her first AAC honor of the season, Shannon Kavanagh was tabbed as the AAC Midfielder of the Week for the fifth time this season and Sabrina Cristodero was named to the AAC Honor Roll for the first time this year.
Haus helped Florida to 2-0 week by scoring seven points – including a career-best five against Temple. The sophomore also tied her career-high in goals that game, finding the back of the net four times to get Florida to a 1-0 start in conference play.
Against Brown, she notched two goals on two shots for a perfect shooting day. She also picked up four groundballs against the Bears.
Haus ranks third in the conference in shot percentage (.523), fifth in goals (23), sixth in FPG per game (0.67) and eighth in free position percentage (.400).
Kavanagh notched nine points this past week, including five goals against Brown, tying her career-best mark (one she's hit four times this season). Against the Bears, Kavanagh reached the 100-point milestone, becoming just the 16th Gator to do – she was the third fastest to hit the mark, doing so in just 32 games. Kavanagh also posted four draw controls, one caused turnover and one groundball against Brown.
Against Temple, she recorded her eighth hat trick of the season, scoring three goals on the day. She added an assist, as well as a season-high eight draw controls.
Kavanagh is second in the conference in goals (38), third in FPG per game (0.83), goals per game (3.17), points (43), shots per game (6.67) and shots on goal per game (4.83). The sophomore is also fourth in points per game (3.58), sixth in draw controls per game (3.83) and seventh in shot percentage (.475).
Cristodero served as Florida's top defender this past week, especially against the Owls. The sophomore marked Temple's Bridget Whitaker, holding her to 1-of-7 shooting on the day.
The Glen Head, N.Y. notched eight draw controls combined against Brown and Temple, moving her to third all-time in Florida's program history. She currently sits at 180 through 33 games, just 123 off the program record.
The sophomore is ranked third in the conference in draw controls per game (4.42).
The Gators are back in action on Saturday for their AAC home opener against Vanderbilt. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and will be streamed on YouTube with Ryan Urquhart and Annabeth Collins on the call.
