Holloway Collects Sixth SEC Weekly Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida junior Grant Holloway earned his sixth Southeastern Conference weekly award of the year, as he was named SEC Men's Co-Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Holloway returned to his signature event for the first time in a month, and he displayed why he is the two-time defending 110-meter hurdles national champion. The Chesapeake, Va., native clocked the second-fastest time in the world (13.25 seconds) and a preliminary time (13.34) that would have ranked fourth in the world were it not for his other season bests.
Between his two hurdles races, Holloway ran the third leg for Florida's 4x100 relay team, which lowered the nation's third-fastest time for a second consecutive week. The quartet of junior Raymond Ekevwo, sophomore Hakim Sani Brown, Holloway, and senior Ryan Clark logged a winning time of 38.52 seconds. The time ranks fifth in school history, and is now 11 hundredths of a second behind LSU's national lead of 38.41.
The Gators are making their final preparations for next week's SEC Outdoor Championships, which begin Thursday, May 9 and conclude Saturday, May 11.
