GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 17 Florida Gators continue their conference slate on Saturday when the team faces off against Vanderbilt.
Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium and the game will be streamed on YouTube with Ryan Urquhart and Annabeth Collins on the call.

This game is dubbed the "SEC Championship" for women's lacrosse as Florida and Vanderbilt are the only two teams in the SEC with the sport. Both teams belong to the American Athletic Conference, the 16th league to sponsor women's lacrosse.
The Gators and the Commodores are meeting for the seventh time in program history, with the Gators holding the 4-2 series advantage. UF is 2-1 in the confines of Donald R. Dizney Stadium against Vanderbilt.
Florida has won eight conference titles in the program's nine seasons: 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 American Lacrosse Conference Champions, and 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 BIG EAST Champions.
AAC Preseason
The Gators swept all four major Preseason American Athletic Awards:
Lindsey Ronbeck was named Attacker of the Year,
Sydney Pirreca was named Midfielder of the Year,
Cara Trombetta was named Defensive Player of the Year and
Haley Hicklen was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
Along with the four major awards, seven Gators were named preseason All-AAC Team members:
Sabrina Cristodero, Grace Haus, Hicklen,
Shannon Kavanagh, Pirreca, Ronbeck and Trombetta.

Scouting the Commodores
Vanderbilt currently sits atop the conference with a 9-2 overall record and a 1-0 record in AAC play. The Commodores hold a 0-1 record against teams in the IWLCA Top-25 as they dropped an 18-6 decision to then-No. 12 Notre Dame.
This is the seventh meeting between the two squads, with Florida leading the series 4-2, including a 2-1 record at home.
Vanderbilt is led on the offensive front by Sophie Furlong, who has scored 22 goals on the season. Emily Mathewson has added 20 goals and 13 assists on the year, while Gabrielle Fornia has dished out a team-best 27 assists this season. Callie Sundin has controlled the draw circle this season, coming up with 34 draw wins. Brianne Gross has recorded 27 draw controls, while Melanie Becker has won 22 draws this season. Lily Argyle has played in all 11 games in the cage this season, recording 61 saves in 512 minutes in the cage. She has collected a .439 saves percentage through her 11 games between the pipes

- Against Temple she became the third Gator to reach the 200 career goal milestone
- She is the second-fastest Gator to reach the 200-goal mark, doing so in 70 games. Shannon Gilroy was the fastest Gator to hit 200 goals, doing so in 70 games
- Streaking: Haley Hicklen has recorded a save in 38-straight games, the second-best mark in program history.
- Streaking: Lindsey Ronbeck has also scored at least one goal in 23-straight games, the third-best mark in program history
- Streaking: Sabrina Cristodero (26) and Shannon Kavanagh (25) are creeping closer to the record for most consecutive games with a draw control (27)
