
Margotti Nominee for Prestigious Scholar-Athlete Award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Christoph Margotti of the Florida men's swimming and diving team has been nominated for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship by the University of Florida.
The H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship has been presented by the Southeastern Conference since 1986 to the league's top male and female scholar-athletes.
The Southeastern Conference will name the 2019 recipients of the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship on April 25.
Highlights of Florida's nominee includes:

Major: Finance
The award recipients are chosen by a committee of Faculty Athletics Representatives from the 14 SEC institutions and are honored at the SEC Spring Meetings in Sandestin, Florida, in late May.
Last year's McWhorter Award recipients were University of Tennessee football player Parker Henry and LSU volleyball player Kelly Quinn.

- Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, 2017, 2018
- Posted a 4.0 GPA in undergraduate work
- SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, 2016
- CSCAA Scholar All-American honorable mention, 2016
- Member of Goodwill Gators, the Athletic Department's Community Service student-athlete team
- Finished 15th overall and seventh in the B Final of the 100 Free at the 2019 SEC Championships, earning 12 points
- Competed at the 2018 NCAAs as a relay alternate, swam in the preliminaries of the 400 FR, where he recorded a split of 42.69 to help Florida to a fourth-place preliminary finish
- Competed in the B Final at the 2016 SEC Championships in the 100 Free and finished 14th overall with time of 43.85, clocked a season-best in the prelims (43.72)
- Registered 13 points on the 2016 SEC Championship team at the conference meet
