Once again Florida struggled on the road, losing three games at #8 Georgia; on the season, the Gators are now 3-12 on the road, including a 1-11 road record in SEC games … On Friday, Georgia used a three-run fourth inning to pull ahead 5-1 and held on to beat Florida 6-4; UF totaled seven hits in the game with Nelson Maldonado and Brady Smith notching two each … Saturday's game was rained out, which forced the teams to play a doubleheader on Sunday with two seven-inning games; the Bulldogs got to Jack Leftwich for eight runs in five innings as Florida lost 9-1 to lose the series … UGA completed the sweep with a 4-1 win in the finale … Offensively, it was a poor weekend for the Gators, who hit .150 and totaled just six runs in three games … Maldonado had the most success, going 4-for-10 (.400) with a double … Brady McConnell had two hits, both solo home runs, to bring his season total to a team-best 12 home runs on the year … On the mound, Friday starter Tommy Mace allowed four runs in 3.1 innings … Leftwich racked up a career-high nine strikeouts despite allowing eight runs … Ben Specht allowed one run in 3.1 relief innings with five strikeouts.Players Mentioned
