The former Gator set to make debut on Friday, June 14
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Former Gator goalkeeper Haley Hicklen was called up by the WPLL Brave from the player pool and will now serve as a full-time roster player.
Hicklen will make her debut on Friday, when the Brave take on the Fight at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN3.
"Haley's steady presence and quick hands can shut down some of the best shooters in the game," said Brave head coach Sonia LaMonica. "She is a confident communicator and has more than proven herself at the college level. We are excited to see what she will add to the Brave defense this summer."
Hicklen is joining former Gator Aniya Flanagan on the Brave – the two were teammates during the 2016-18 seasons.
The Baltimore, Md. native is coming off a terrific career at Florida, leaving the program with records in career saves (566), groundballs (194) and minutes played by a goalie (3866:17).
Along the way Hicklen also collected an impressive selection of accolades, including: IWLCA Second-Team All-American (2018), BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year (2017, 2018), AAC Goalkeeper of the Year (2019), and IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week (3/27/19).
