The 19 honorees are the most for the Gator lacrosse team in program history
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida's lacrosse team proved its dominance both on and off the field in the 2019 season as 19 student-athletes were named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, as the league announced Wednesday.
Between lacrosse, baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track & field, the University of Florida had an astounding 103 student-athletes named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll. The 19 honorees are the most by the lacrosse team in program history.
On the field, Florida swept both the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, while going undefeated in league play for the fourth-straight season. The Gators finished the season with a 14-7 record, collected four IWLCA All-America honors, seven First Team All-AAC accolades and four of the six major AAC postseason awards.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
