Trlicek, Cottrill & Echols Continue Play with U-19 WNT

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Charla Echols, Julia Cottrill and Rylee Trlicek continued their summer campaign with the USA U-19 Women's National Team (7-1) this past weekend in Paris, France and Dublin, Ireland.
The trio helped the Red, White and Blue to a 4-1 record, with wins over France, 11-2 and 7-0, and Ireland, 13-0. The squad also split a pair of games with Japan as they lost the opening game 3-0, but then rebounded to win 1-0 the next day. The U-19 WNT has outscored opponents 60-10 so far this summer.
Next up is a pair of exhibition games in Atlanta at the Robert E. Heck Softball Complex against the Georgia Impact and Birmingham Thunderbolts club teams. Afterwards the U-19 WNT will then compete in the USA Softball International Cup in Columbus, Ga. from July 1-7, at the South Commons Softball Complex.
Also competing at this year's International Cup will be the USA Women's National Team, No. 2 Japan, No. 4 Puerto Rico, No. 5 Mexico, No. 6 Chinese Taipei, No. 8 China, No. 13 Philippines, No. 20 Peru, Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and an exhibition with the USSSA Pride.

USA U-19 WNT Results
Cottrill went 2-for-2 in Team USA's 11-2 win over France. The Stillwater, Okla. native drove in a run with an RBI single to right field to help give the Red, White and Blue 7-0 lead in the first inning. She then went on to produce an RBI double to center field that extended the lead out to 9-0 in the second inning.
Echols started the scoring in the U-19 WNT's blowout win over Ireland. The Newnan, Ga. native ripped the 3-2 pitch on a line drive to center field in the bottom of the first to plate a pair of runs for Team USA. Echols also picked up base hits against Japan and France in the first two games.
Trlicek picked up the start in the circle for Team USA's 1-0 victory over Japan. The Hallettsville, Texas native hurled 4.0 shutout innings en-route to the combined shutout with Montana Fouts. In the no-decision effort, she scattered four hits and picked up one strikeout.
The left-hander also picked up an inning of work against Ireland and induced three groundouts on just five pitches.
