When Trinity Thomas competes Saturday, she'll be among the five gymnasts since 2010 to compete in NCAA Championships and U.S. Classic in same calendar year.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Rising Gator sophomore Trinity Thomas competes Saturday in the GK U.S. Classic, held at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.
Thomas is coming off an outstanding collegiate debut season with the Gators:
Thomas is a three-time member of the U.S. Senior National Team. Of the 128 different gymnasts to compete at a U.S. Classic since 2010, Thomas will be the fifth to appear after competing earlier that year at the NCAA Championships:

2019 GK U.S. Classic Senior competition airs on the Olympic Channel (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable 1096/1097) live at 7 p.m. Saturday and reairs Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Olympic Channel and the NBCSports app will also have a live stream of the senior competition.
Thomas is coming off an outstanding collegiate debut season with the Gators:
- All-America first-team honors on floor (9.925) in NCAA Championships' semifinal competition
- Four-time All-American (all-around, uneven bars, floor exercise – first; balance beam - second) in NACGC regular season awards. Nation's only freshman to claim four regular-season All-America honors.
- SEC vault champion with collegiate-best 9.95. Also shared second on floor (9.95) and third in all-around (39.575)
- SEC Freshman of the Year
- NACGC Southeast Region Gymnast of the Year - fifth Gator to claim the honor and is the second to claim the award as a freshman
- First in league history to earn a SEC weekly honor after each competition (three SEC Gymnast; six SEC Freshman of Week)
- Led Gators with 26 event titles (9 floor, 6 all-around, bars; 3 vault; 2 beam)
- Eight nearly perfect marks of 9.975 leads Gator freshmen all-time
