Lauren Waidner and Elin Esborn were selected as All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Monday.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Two members of the Florida women's golf team, Lauren Waidner and Elin Esborn, were selected as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), announced Monday.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 as well as participation in more than half of the school's regularly scheduled competitive rounds over the year.
This comes as Waidner's second-career academic award after being named to the 2018 SEC First Year Honor Roll, while this is Esborn's first academic honor.
