UF students should mark their calendars for Aug. 20 and "Rally in the Swamp."
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida Alumni Association and the University Athletic Association are teaming up to host the fifth "Rally in the Swamp," presented by University of Florida Alumni Association & the Florida Gators, a student pep rally to be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 to kick off the 2019-20 school year.
This free event will culminate the fall semesters first day of classes and start at 7:30 p.m.
Student gates on the East side of Ben Hill Griffin Football Stadium will open at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the event students can play games to win prizes, with the first 3,000 students to arrive get free pizza courtesy of Domino's and the first 2,000 will get a free bottle of water.
In addition, all student season ticket holders who have downloaded the new Florida Gators App can claim their student section t-shirt, presented by Pepsi.
Coach Dan Mullen will be on hand to welcome students back for the 2019-20 year. The event will also feature the Florida marching band, cheerleaders, Dazzlers, mascots and some of Florida's student-athletes. Students will learn some of the great traditions that make Saturdays in The Swamp so special to the Gator Nation.
Any students who are not already 2019 student season ticket holders at the event can purchase tickets on their mobile device or with a Gators Ticket Office staff member.
Students will have the ability to access their tickets via the mobile app. This is the first time in school history that UF students will not have to go to the student ticket-office outside Gate 13 during the week of a game to pick up his or her tickets. Their tickets, with seat locations, will be sent directly to them on their phone during the week of a home game.
Student tickets are exclusively digital this fall.
The Gators kick off the 2019 season on Aug. 24, against Miami in Orlando, Fla. Florida's home opener is Sept. 7 against UT Martin at 7:30 p.m.
