Trinity Thomas is the fifth gymnast since 2010 to compete in both NCAA and U.S. Championships in the same calendar year.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Rising Gator sophomore Trinity Thomas competes this weekend in the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Thomas competes in the senior division on Friday and Sunday:
A part of the Team USA Champions Series, the U.S. Championships determines the women's U.S. champions and U.S. National Team. The U.S. Championships is also part of the selection process for the U.S. Team for the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, in October.

Thomas is a three-time member of the U.S. Senior National Team. Of the 101 different gymnasts to compete at a U.S. Classic since 2010, Thomas will be the fifth to appear after competing earlier that year at the NCAA Championships:

- All-America first-team honors on floor (9.925) in NCAA Championships' semifinal competition
- Four-time All-American (all-around, uneven bars, floor exercise – first; balance beam - second) in NACGC regular season awards. Nation's only freshman to claim four regular-season All-America honors.
- SEC vault champion with collegiate-best 9.95. Also shared second on floor (9.95) and third in all-around (39.575)
- SEC Freshman of the Year
- NACGC Southeast Region Gymnast of the Year - fifth Gator to claim the honor and is the second to claim the award as a freshman
- First in league history to earn a SEC weekly honor after each competition (three SEC Gymnast; six SEC Freshman of Week)
- Led Gators with 26 event titles (9 floor, 6 all-around, bars; 3 vault; 2 beam)
- Eight nearly perfect marks of 9.975 leads Gator freshmen all-time
