GAINESVILLE, Fla.— The 100th regular season of the National Football League is right around the corner as active rosters were trimmed to the league-mandated size of 53 on Saturday.
A primetime matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears will kick things off on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 8:20 p.m in the Windy City. A pair of Gators, second-year kicker Eddy Pineiro and veteran tight end Trey Burton, will be featured in the season opener. Bears head coach Matt Nagy announced Sunday that Pineiro had won the kicking competition and would serve as the starter to begin the season.
This kickoff edition of the 2019-20 Gators in the NFL will preview 44 total players across 22 teams ahead of week one.
