Gators Maintain Spots in National Rankings

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators maintained their position in both national polls on Sunday following their 34-3 victory over Tennessee.
Florida (4-0, 2-0) held steady at ninth in the AP Top 25 and No. 8 in the Amway Coaches Poll. The Gators have won eight consecutive games, their longest win streak since 2012 and the longest active streak in the Southeastern Conference.
While seventh-ranked Notre Dame lost at Georgia on Saturday night, the coaches moved Auburn up two spots from ninth to seventh after the undefeated Tigers (4-0) won a Southeastern Conference road game at Texas A&M. The Fighting Irish dropped to 10th.
In the AP poll, Auburn moved up a spot to seventh and Wisconsin, which beat Michigan on Saturday, jumped five spots from 13th to eighth.
The Gators host Towson on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, a final tuneup prior to the Homecoming matchup with Auburn on Oct. 5 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
