Lindaman Named to USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senior Kendyl Lindaman earned a spot on the 2020 USA Softball Top 50 "Watch List" as announced by USA Softball Wednesday. This is Lindaman's third appearance on the initial watch list.
Lindaman, a three-time NFCA All-American, produced the second highest average at the plate for the Gators and finished inside the top-10 amongst Southeastern Conference sluggers in RBI, home runs, total bases and walks last season.
Lauren Haeger & Kelly Barnhill are the only Gators to have won the prestigious award. Haeger earned the title in 2015 after leading Florida to the program's second national championship and Barnhill secured the honor after have a historic season in 2017.
The pre-season "Watch List" includes 28 seniors, 13 juniors and 9 sophomores, with freshman ineligible for consideration. (Freshman can be considered for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award once they have competed at the collegiate level).
Athletes named to the "Watch List" represent 33 NCAA Division I universities and 19 athletic conferences.

Florida is set to begin its' 2020 campaign at the USF-Rawlings Invitational in Tampa against Illinois State (Feb. 7) at 6:45 p.m. with the first SEC series slated against Auburn (March 6-8).
The Gators are also set to host conference opponents Ole Miss (March 28-30), Missouri (April 9-11) and Georgia (May 24-26).
UF is also set to host a pair of marquee non-conference series at home against Louisiana (Feb. 28-March 1) and Baylor (March 13-15).
The first home contest in the recently renovated Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium is an exhibition set for Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. against Team USA. Former Gators Michelle Moultrie, Aubree Munro and Kelsey Stewart will return with the Red, White and Blue to take on the Gators as they prepare for their quest to win Olympic gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
