GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida faces its fourth ranked opponent Sunday at No. 11 South Carolina.
The Gators opened the season with three consecutive ranked opponents – then No. 8 Georgia (1-1 2OT), then No. 15 Alabama (2-1 win) and at then No. 11 Texas A&M (2-1 loss).

In Florida's Last Match:
Last Sunday, Florida dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision to Vanderbilt. The Gators scored the only goal of the opening half when Parker Roberts sent a searching ball into the box in the 41st minute. Freshman Maddy Rhodes sliding right foot beat two VU defenders to score her first collegiate goal.
 
VU's Raegan Kelley tied the match in the 80th minute, forcing the two programs to the third overtime in the 33 all-time meetings. Madison Elwell got the winning touch during a goal line scrum in the 103rd. minute to give Vanderbilt its first overtime win of 2020.
 
It was the fourth consecutive meeting between the two programs decided by a single goal.

When Florida meets No. 11 South Carolina on Sunday, it will be the Gators fourth United Soccer Coaches Top 15 opponent this season. Four top-15 opponents leads SEC programs in 2020.

About South Carolina :
South Carolina advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinal round in 2019, losing 1-0 to Washington State. This season, the Gamecocks opened with a 1-0 loss at Georgia, but has won the next four – 4-1 vs Missouri, 1-0 vs Kentucky, 2-1 2OT at Vanderbilt and 2-1 at No. 3 Arkansas. This win streak advanced South Carolina to No. 11 on the latest United Soccer Coaches poll.
 
Sophomore Samantha Chung is the reigning United Soccer Coaches and SEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring game-winning goal in win at then No. 3 Arkansas. Freshman Catherine Barry leads USC with three goals. Sophomore Heather Hintz started the last three matches and owns a goals-against-average of 0.64.
 
Shelley Smith is in her 19th season as South Carolina's head coach. She's led USC to three SEC regular-season titles (2011, 2016, 2017).
