The Gators opened the season with three consecutive ranked opponents – then No. 8 Georgia (1-1 2OT), then No. 15 Alabama (2-1 win) and at then No. 11 Texas A&M (2-1 loss).

Last Sunday, Florida dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision to Vanderbilt. The Gators scored the only goal of the opening half when
Parker Roberts sent a searching ball into the box in the 41st minute. Freshman
Maddy Rhodes sliding right foot beat two VU defenders to score her first collegiate goal.

VU's Raegan Kelley tied the match in the 80th minute, forcing the two programs to the third overtime in the 33 all-time meetings. Madison Elwell got the winning touch during a goal line scrum in the 103rd. minute to give Vanderbilt its first overtime win of 2020.

It was the fourth consecutive meeting between the two programs decided by a single goal.
