GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In conjunction with the Southeastern Conference's 2020-21 swimming and diving guidelines and formats, University of Florida women's swimming and diving has officially announced its upcoming regular season schedule.
Florida's slate features three conference dual meets against Top 25 opponents, two non-conference duals, the US Open, the Auburn Invitational and a diving invitational hosted by the Miami Hurricanes. All three home meets at Ann Marie Rogers Swimming and Diving Pool inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center will be closed to the general public.
UF will begin its season by traveling to Athens, Ga. on Oct. 30 for a top-10 dual with the Bulldogs. The Gators will then experience a quick turnaround, welcoming in-state rival Miami Hurricanes to Gainesville for their first home meet of the new campaign. Last season, UF defeated the Hurricanes 203-90 in Coral Gables, winning all 16 events. This will conclude dual meet competition for the Gators in 2020.
A handful of Florida swimmers will then travel south to Sarasota on Nov. 12-14 to compete in the US Open. Due to COVID, the yearly competition will look different, spreading out the four-day meet at nine different regional sites across the country.
The following week, Florida will head to the Auburn Invitational for from Nov. 18-20 for the last swimming competition of 2020. The women's divers will conclude the fall portion of the schedule by hitting the boards against the Hurricanes in a diving-only competition from Dec. 2-4 in Coral Gables.
2021 will begin with back-to-back home meets, the first coming against Texas A&M on Jan 9. to mark the first conference meet of the season in Gainesville. 11 days later on Jan. 20, the Gators will host North Florida at the Ann Marie Rogers Swimming and Diving Pool.
The regular season slate will wrap up just three days later with another road trip to Auburn to face the Tigers as the final tune-up before championship season.
The 2021 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships are scheduled to take place on Feb. 16-20 in Columbia, Mo.
