
Opportunity Awaits in Las Vegas

The Florida men's golf team is set to face a loaded field at the Southern Highlands Collegiate beginning on Sunday, March 1.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida men's golf team is set to continue its spring slate against a loaded field at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. The event is hosted by UNLV and is scheduled to run from Sunday, March 1 to Tuesday, March 3.
Format
The teams will complete 54 holes of stroke play over three days of competition. Play each day is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. ET.
Course Information
The tournament is being played at the Par 72, 7,510 yard Southern Highlands Golf Club. This course has consistently been ranked as one of the best links in the nation and has hosted two PGA Tour events.
PGA Tour Exemption
For the second time, the individual champion will receive an exemption into the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which will take place Oct. 8-11, 2020, at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.

Tournament History
This will be the Gators' fifth appearance at the Southern Highlands Collegiate under head coach JC Deacon, and 18th appearance overall as a program.
In 2018, Florida claimed the team title by four strokes at 5 under. Last season, the Gators tied for 13th with John Axelsen as their top individual finisher.
Last Time Out
Florida claimed its first VyStar Gators Invitational title since 2011 behind a stellar performance from freshman Ricky Castillo.
The Gators shot 7 under in the final round of the event to finish 18 strokes ahead of Vanderbilt at 12-under par. Castillo signed the second-best individual score in tournament history with a 13-under 197, winning the individual title by eight strokes.
Junior John Axelsen also had a great outing on the Gators' home track. The junior took third after shooting 4 under in the final round. Axelsen's third-place finish marks his third top-three finish of the season.
In his last Gators Invitational in a Florida uniform, senior Blake Dyer finished in the top 20, tying for 16th after shooting a collective 2 over.
Chris Nido and Manny Girona were also in Florida's lineup, finishing T31 and T60, respectively.
Quentin Debove highlighted Florida's individual players, ending the event at even par, putting him in a tie for 10th individually.

The Gators travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Tar Heel Collegiate. The two-day tournament is hosted by University of North Carolina and runs from Saturday, March 21 to Sunday, March 22.
