Gators with a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA earn WCGA Scholastic All-America honors.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A dozen from Florida's 2020 Southeastern Conference title team earned Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-America honors. The WCGA recognizes the academic accomplishments of collegiate gymnasts each season.
As a team, Florida recorded a program record team cumulative GPA of 3.60 in fall 2019 and 3.72 in spring 2020 for a 3.6207 GPA for the academic year.
Florida's four earning 2020 WCGA All-America honors – Alyssa Baumann, Rachel Gowey, Savannah Schoenherr and Trinity Thomas – also collected 2020 Scholastic All-America accolades. Sophomore Leah Clapper is one of 193 on the 2020 WCGA Scholastic All-America team with a 4.0 grade point average.
To qualify for the WCGA Scholastic All-America team, a gymnast must have a GPA of 3.50 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above at the nominating institution.
