Garcia, Snider Win Diving Events; Perez Qualifies for NCAA Diving Zones

Gators perform well in diving on Sunday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida competed against FIU and Miami in diving on Sunday at the Ann Marie Rogers Swimming and Diving Pool at the Steph C. O'Connell Center.

It was a good afternoon for a handful of Gators as Leonardo Garcia won the men's three-meter with a season-best 416.1 while Lauren Snider won the women's platform with a 266.6, which earned her a B-cut for NCAA Diving Zones.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Perez's 299.0 in the women's 1m, which was good for second in the competition, and earned her an A-cut, which is an automatic qualification into NCAA Diving Zones.

Senior Emma Whitner competed in her final home meet on Sunday scoring a 253.85 (3rd place) on the women's platform and a 254.4 (7th place) in the women's 3m.

Ashley McCool scored a 293.2 (3rd place) in the women's 1m and a 312.15 in the women's 3m.

Nick Lydon, who finished 2nd in the men's 1m (289.95) and 3m (313.25) and Anton Svirskyi, who finished 3rd in the men's 3m (301.4) and platform (327.45), also competed for UF on Sunday.

Florida's women's team is scheduled to host North Florida on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET for the final home meet of the season.

Both the men's and women's teams are then set to travel to Auburn on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET to compete.
