GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida track and field announced Friday its 2021 schedule, which features five indoor meets and several outdoor events including the annual Pepsi Florida Relays.
UF will open the indoor season Jan. 23 when they travel to Columbia, S.C. to compete in this year's Carolina Challenge. Florida will continue its indoor campaign with trips back to South Carolina for the South Carolina Challenge and to Arkansas for the annual Tyson Invitational. The Gators will return to Fayetteville, Ark. to wrap up the indoor season with the SEC Indoor Championships Feb. 25-27, and the NCAA Indoor Championships March 12-13.
Outdoors, the Gators will host the 2021 Pepsi Florida Relays, tentatively scheduled for April 2 – 3, and the annual Tom Jones Memorial April 16 – 17. As previously announced, this year's Pepsi Florida Relays will not host participants from the high school level due to the ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The format for the two Florida home meets, including fan attendance, ticketing, health and safety protocols, along with dates will be determined at a later time.
In addition to Florida's annual home meets, the Gators will compete at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee, Fla. and the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. UF will close the season with runs at the SEC Outdoor Championships May 13-15 in Bryan-College Station, Texas, and the NCAA Outdoors Championships June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon.
