GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team continued fall exhibition action Sunday afternoon and outscored Jacksonville 16-2 (12-0 & 4-2) at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
Five Gators tallied multi-hit days as Cheyenne Lindsey, Charla Echols, Skylar Wallace, Reagan Walsh and Baylee Goddard picked up two hits each. Hannah Adams, Kendra Falby and Cali Decker also delivered a hit in the contest.
In the circle, six Florida pitchers saw action with Natalie Lugo and Marissa Mesiemore picking up 2.2 & 2.0 innings each respectively to pace the staff.
The Gators continue fall exhibition play Friday, October 22, at 6 p.m. against Florida Southwestern.
Offense
UF was active on the bases for the second-consecutive exhibition as the team was 10-for-10 on stolen base attempts. Wallace swiped three to lead the team, while Lindsey and Falby took two each. Walsh, Adams and Julia Cottrill each also stole a base.
Florida also churned out 13 total hits with six going for extra bases. Walsh blasted a home run and a double off the center field wall, while Lindsey and Goddard ripped a triple each. Wallace and Adams also roped a double a piece.
Pitching
Complimenting Lugo and Mesiemore this afternoon were Rylee Trlicek, Lexie Delbrey, Danni Farley and Hayley Pittman. The staff combined for 11 strikeouts with Lugo sitting down four, followed by Trlicek and Delbrey who struck out three each.
Mesiemore was the only Gator not to allow a hit, but the entire staff didn't allow more than one each.
