The redshirt senior earned her first CoSIDA Academic honor on Thursday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt senior Holly Carlton made her first appearance on the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Women's Volleyball First Team, as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday. With the selection, Carlton advances to the national ballot, which will be announced later this month.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Carlton's on-court success spoke for itself during the 2020-21 campaign, with her earning AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors – the second AVCA accolade of her career.
The Sterling, Va. native also earned AVCA All-Southeast Region honors, as well as a spot on the All-SEC Team for her performance during her final season in the Orange and Blue. She started all 25 matches for the Gators, posting at least 10.0 points in 15 matches during the year.
Carlton finished the season ranked eighth in the SEC in blocks per set and hit over .300 in 12 matches – including a .733 clip (12-1-15) against Missouri, the second-highest percentage in the SEC this season.
This is the first CoSIDA All-District honor for the redshirt senior, who graduated from Florida with three SEC Academic Honor Roll selections (2018, 2019, 2020).
