McGee Advances to Semifinals in Tokyo

Cory McGee made her Olympics Debut Sunday and advanced in the 1,500m with a time of 4:05.15
TOKYO – Gators Great Cory McGee advanced in the women's 1,500 meters after making her Olympics debut Sunday inside Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
 
The Florida record holder clocked a qualifying time of 4:05.15, finishing 16th and securing her sport in the semifinal round. The 1,500 semifinal is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 a.m. ET, and it can be streamed live here.

The action continues Monday as Gators Greats Will Claye (USA) and Marija Vucenovic (Serbia) compete in the triple jump (8 p.m. ET – Live Stream) and javelin (8:20 p.m. ET – Live Stream), respectively. On the track, NCAA Champions Joseph Fahnbulleh (Liberia) and Hakim Sani Brown (Japan) will compete in the 200 meters qualifying at 10:05 p.m. with a live stream here.
 
Overall, a track and field program-record 14 present and past Gators qualified to the Tokyo Olympics.
