Gators Cruise Past Saint Leo in Exhibition

Florida's offense batted .422 in the 10-inning exhibition with the Lions.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Friday evening the Florida softball team continued to show growth in its' 13-3 (10 innings) decision over Saint Leo at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. UF's next exhibition will take place Friday, Nov. 4, when the team travels to Orlando to take on UCF at 6 p.m.

The Gators batted .422 (19-for-45) and held the Lions to just .182 (6-for-33) during their third exhibition of the fall. Overall, six hitters had multi-hit games with Charla Echols (4-for-5), Skylar Wallace (3-for-4), Sarah Longley (3-for-3) and Reagan Walsh (3-for-3) leading the way with three hits or more. Kendra Falby (2-for-4) and Avery Goelz (2-for-5) also hat multi-hit games in the effort.

In the circle, Samantha Bender, Olivia Gigante, Rylee Trlicek and Elizabeth Hightower each saw action with Bender contributing 4 innings of work followed by Gigante's 2 2-3 innings, Hightower's 2 innings and Trlicek's 1 1-3 innings. Hightower had five strikeouts throughout the final two frames of action and the entire staff only issued two walks.

Through three exhibitions, Wallace leads the offense with a .700 (7-for-10) batting average along with two doubles, two triples and eight RBI. Goelz and Falby follow up with .462 (6-for-13) averages at the plate, while Echols is hitting .455 (5-for-11) and Walsh is batting .385 (5-for-13).
