Will Richard Recognized on SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll

Will Richard earned recognition for his academic performance on Friday as one of 80 Florida Gators across all sports to be named to the 2022-23 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Richard, who is majoring in sport management, transferred to UF from Belmont in 2022-23 as a sophomore and promptly took on a significant role for the men's basketball team. The Fairburn, Ga., native finished second on the team with 10.4 points per game and was UF's top 3-point shooter at .398 with 51 made 3-point field goals, starting 30 of his 32 appearances.
He joins Colin Castleton, Myreon Jones, Alex Klatsky and Jack May as academic honorees, with that quartet earning placement on the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll this past season.
To be recognized to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
