GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team is just 56 days out from Opening Day of the 2025 season and it's time to meet the Gators' eight newcomers, starting with infielder Rylee Holtorf.
Holtorf, a graduate transfer from Washington, was a three-year starter for the Huskies, primarily at shortstop. She will wear No. 4 for the Gators in her final season of college softball.
A 2024 First Team All-Pac-12 and NFCA All-Pacific Region First Team selection, Holtorf started all 47 games for Washington last season.
In a career-best year for the Peoria, Ariz., native, she posted a .336 average with 51 hits, eight doubles, two triples, 11 home runs and 25 RBI.
Holtorf led the Huskies in hits, runs scored (37), triples and multi-hit games (13), and ranked second in walks (22) and batting average.
In addition to being an All-PAC 12 First Team selection last season, Holtorf also earned numerous accolades over her career as she is a two-time NFCA All-Pacific Region (2023 & 2024) honoree, an All-PAC-12 Defensive Team (2023) selection, earned PAC-12 All-Tournament Team (2023) honors, was a member of the PAC-12 All-Freshman Team (2022) and was honored by being tabbed a College Sports Communicators (CS) Third Team Academic All-American (2024).
This season, Holtorf has been reunited with her former travel ball and high school teammate Jocelyn Erickson, a junior catcher for the Gators. They played together at Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Phoenix, Ariz., winning a 6A Softball State Championship together in 2019.
The two dominated Arizona high school softball, with Holtorf being named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the State of Arizona in 2020, while Erickson won the award in 2022.
Holtorf graduated from Washington in three years with a degree in communications and a minor in education. She's currently earning her graduate certificate in sport management at Florida.
