Meet Notes
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Reigning SEC Champions, the No. 4/3 Florida Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams gear-up for post-season action, traveling to Auburn, AL for the 2024 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships. The week-long competition begins Monday, Feb. 19 with diving events, and wraps up on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Entering the meet, the men are a perfect 7-0 overall, 4-0 against SEC opponents (No. 7 Georgia, No. 11 Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina). The women are 7-1 overall, with their only loss being No. 1 Virginia and are 5-0 in conference action, including wins over No. 12 Tennessee, No. 13 Georgia, and No. 21 South Carolina. Eight women's SEC teams and six men's SEC teams are ranked in the February CSCAA poll, with Florida leading the way on both the women's side at third in the nation and the men's side at fourth in the country.
Among the Gators championship roster, there are 16 All-Americans - nine on the men's side and seven on the women. Out of the traveling roster, 14 are freshman. The women's team has nine newcomers on their championship roster, while the men have six.
SEC Championship Win-Streak
The men are in pursuit of their 12th straight conference championship. Florida's dominant run has the third-most consecutive men's swimming and diving conference titles in a row in SEC history (Florida – 13 from 1956-1968; Auburn – 16 from 1997-2012.) The 44 SEC Championships in team history are the second-most by any SEC program across all sports, only behind Kentucky in men's basketball (56).
The women are looking to clinch back-to-back conference titles after being crowned 2023 SEC Champions for the first time since 2009. The last time the Gators won two titles in a row was during the stretch of 1985-96, when they won 11 conference titles in a row. Florida's 18th SEC Championship titles sits best in the conference, with Georgia's 12 in second.
Head coach
Anthony Nesty is searching for his sixth-straight men's title, and second women's title at the helm for Florida. Nesty took home the 2023 SEC Men's Coach of the Year as well as secured his first SEC Women's Swimming Coach of the Year honor. He became just the fifth Gators coach in program history to achieve such honors, and only the first since Gregg Troy back in 2008.
Speedy Gators
During the regular season, Florida has recorded 47 top-10 times. Of the combined 47, the women's squad has accumulated 27 individual and six relay top-10 times, while setting five new program records. Freshman
Bella Sims has recorded a team-high six individuals and also set the new 100-yard backstroke record after cruising to a 50.44 finish. Sims has three individual top-three finishes and has been a part of four relays. Gainesville native
Isabel Ivey has scratched her name nine times during her first season as a gator, one being a new program record in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.03). 10 other female swimmers have earned a spot in the record books:
Micayla Cronk (two individual, four relays),

Jake Mitchell (one individual) Gio Linscheer (one individual),
Jonny Marshall (two individual),
