Gators Place 11 on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eleven Gator gymnasts earn a spot on the 2024 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, announced today by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the SEC champion Gators saw all gymnasts eligible earn a spot on the 2024 SEC Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes must be a sophomore or complete a full academic year at the institution to be included in the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Senior Victoria Nguyen turned in a 4.0 grade point average. She is one of three Gators eligible for the Winter Academic Honor Roll who earned All-America honors a week ago at the NCAA Championships. Ellie Lazzari and Leanne Wong also earned All-American honors.
The 2024 NCAA uneven bars champion, Wong also is a finalist for the Honda Award, given to the season's top collegiate gymnast.
The 2024 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2023 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
More academic accolades for Gators gymnastics are expected when the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll is released in the summer.
