Walton, Lorenz Take Home Silver with USA Softball at WBSC World Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida softball head coach Tim Walton alongside former standout Amanda Lorenz competed for USA Softball at the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation World Cup and took home a silver medal as Team USA went 5-1 at the tournament.
USA Softball's only blemish at the WBSC World Championships was a 6-1 defeat to Japan in the championship game, but otherwise outscored opponents 28-8 over the six games played in Castions Di Strada, Italy.
Amanda Lorenz started all six games in left field and tallied five walks, two RBI and three runs scored.
The Red, White and Blue posted four shutouts and one no-hitter throughout the tournament en route to clinching its 17th medal placement since the WBSC World Championships began. It's the fifth silver medal for USA Softball in the event.
