Jake Slaughter received his final Second Team All-American Honor from the Football Writers Association of America.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Football Writers Association of America is the final publication to name All-Americans for the 2025 season, where they gave starting center Jake Slaughter his fourth Second Team All-American recognition.
Slaughter started all 12 games this season, finishing his career with an appearance in 51 games and earned starts in 33 games. He recorded 748 snaps this season while allowing just one sack, one quarterback hit and two hurries. Slaughter posted a PFF Offense grade of 78.9, a Run Block grade of 82.2 and saw a 70.0 or higher Pass Block grade in 11 of the Gators games for a team high 87.1 Pass Block grade this season. Slaughter's impact on the field was noticed in the team's run game, where he aided teammate Jadan Baugh for a career high season of running the ball 220 times for 1,170 yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
Slaughter placed eighth in the country among all centers for his PFF Run Block, Pass Block and Offense grades, and is fifth in the country for his Zone Run Block grade of 80.3.
The NCAA's Consensus All-American team will be released Friday, Dec. 19. In the last week, Slaughter has received All-American status from four publications, including the Walter Camp Foundation, the Associated Press, The Sporting News and the FWAA. He was named a Second Team All-American by all four publications; however, this is not Slaughter's first year being named an All-American as he was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press following the 2024 season. This season, Slaughter has also been recognized as a member of the All-SEC First Team, a member of the PFF 2025 All-SEC team, a member of the AP All-SEC First Team, a Second Team All-American by USA Today and The Athletic and was named a Rimington Trophy finalist for the 2025 season.
