Gallon was a 6-foot-8, 268-pound lineman who played at Jefferson High in Tampa and signed with the Gators over Ohio State in a big recruiting win for Florida at the time. His brother, former Louisville basketball star Ricky Gallon, was the first Tampa native to be drafted by the NBA. Ricky died in January at 67.
