Francisco collects SEC Golfer of the Week honor

Paula Francisco started the spring with tying the 54-hole program record (202) and leading Florida to its third straight victory.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Florida women's golfer Paula Francisco collected an SEC Golfer of the Week honor to start the spring season, the league office announced. It is her second career weekly conference award.
A junior from Madrid, Spain, Francisco teed off the spring by tying the program 54-hole record (202) en route to leading No. 6 Florida to its third straight victory in the spring opener at the Sea Best Invitational. She finished runner-up with all three rounds in the 60s - 69-66-67. The bogey-free second round of 66 (-6) set a new career-low as she also set a new career-best in tournament score (202, -14) and finish (2nd). Across her 54-holes, she made 15 birdies, 38 pars and only one bogey.
Francisco leads the team in stroke average (71.2) as she has logged two top-10 and five top-25 finishes. After a T42 in the season opener, she has finished T12-T12-T8-2nd-T15.
Florida returns back to the 'Sunshine State' at the Moon Golf Invitational (Feb. 15-17) and hosting the Gators Invitational (March 6-8).
