Bragg, Davies, and Hamilton Earn Big 12 Weekly Player of the Week Honors

This is Bragg’s and Hamilton’s third weekly honor this season and Davies’ first
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Seniors Theresa Bragg and Kaitlyn Davies and Sophomore Clark Hamilton were each named Big 12 weekly players of the week at their respective position for the performances against USF and San Diego State, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Bragg earned defender of the week, Davies earned midfielder of the week, and Hamilton earned attacker of the week. This is the eight straight week that at a UF player has earned a Big 12 player of the week award and the second time that three players were named.
Theresa Bragg
This is Bragg's third Big 12 defender of the week honor this season, and the seventh conference player of the week honor of her career. Against USF and SDSU, Bragg was tasked with defending both team's leading goal scorer. Against USF, Bragg held Chepenik to one goal and one assist, well below her 3.67 points per games average. Versus SDSU, Bragg limited Keira Doyle-Odenbach to one goal, which was below her 2.58 points per game average.
Kaitlyn Davies
This is Davies' first Big 12 midfielder of the week honor this season, and the fourth conference player of the week honor of her career. Against USF, Davies scored one goal on the offensive end, while holding USF's Kaitlyn Tartaglione to one goal on the day on the defensive end, along with one draw control. Against SDSU, Davies scored a season high four goals on five shots and two draw controls, helping the Gators win 18-6.
Clark Hamilton
This is Hamilton's third Big 12 attacker of the week honor this season, and the sixth conference player of the week honor of her career. Against USF, Clark tallied five goals on eight shots (.625 shooting %) and one assist. Her fifth goal of the day was her 100th goal of her career, as she became tied for the fastest to 100 goals in program history, doing so in 35 games. Against SDSU, Hamilton put up three goals and two assists on the way to an 18-6 win over the Aztecs. These games were Hamilton's fifth and sixth games of the season, in which she scored at least five points in each.
Following today's game against Jacksonville, the No. 5/5 Gators will take on Cincinnati on Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m. at Cincinnati.
