(2006): Did not see any action during his first season at Florida and was redshirted.

AT DUKE (2005): Played in 33 games for the Blue Devils in '05, making 27 starts…Hit .257 (26-for-101) and ranked fifth on the squad with eight doubles…Drove in 11 runs and belted two homers…Duke finished 14-39 overall and was 5-25 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year starting infielder and outfielder at American Heritage Plantation and Coral Springs High School...After signing with Duke University in the fall of his senior year, Wheeler completed his high school career by participating in the Broward County 6A-5A-4A All-Star Game, where he was named as the Most Valuable Player…Chosen as the 6A-5A-4A “Player of the Year” by Broward County Umpires Association as a junior… Batted .500 with 43 runs batted in and nine homers, while sporting a slugging percentage of .998 and an on-base percentage of .982...First-team all-state choice by the Florida State Sportswriters Association and was picked first-team All-Broward County by both the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel…Led all Broward County schools in RBI and home runs and was voted as Coral Springs' MVP... Established school records for hits, home runs, runs batted in and equaled the standards for batting average and doubles…Batted .348 as a sophomore and drove in 20 runs…Prior to attending Duke, Wheeler competed for head coach Mike Roberts of the Florida Pokers during the summer…In 2004, Wheeler hit .427 with 74 runs batted in and 57 runs…Also established a single-season homer mark with 13 round-trippers…Wheeler batted .368 as the clean-up hitter the previous season, totaling 65 RBI, with 43 runs and 11 homers.
